We kicked things off with their fried pickles, and let us tell you—they’re a must-order! Crispy, tangy, and served in a generous portion, they’re ideal for sharing (or keeping all to yourself… we won’t judge).

For lunch, we each tried something different:

  • The Michigan Chicken Cherry Salad was an absolute standout. The combination of tender grilled chicken, tart Michigan cherries, crunchy walnuts, and bold blue cheese over fresh spinach was simply perfect—every bite was balanced and flavorful.
  • Jeffrey went for the tuna melt, a comforting classic done right with perfectly melted cheese and a crisp, golden-brown exterior.
  • Todd opted for the traditional Red Hawk Burger, a juicy, no-frills favorite that hit the spot.
  • Dan chose the Cuban sandwich, a pressed-to-perfection masterpiece with layers of roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard.

Great food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and some of the best people-watching in Ann Arbor—what more could you want for a lunchtime escape? Whether you’re a longtime fan or visiting for the first time, Red Hawk Bar & Grill is well worth a stop.

The Four8 Foodies | Jagged Fork

Jagged Fork has six different locations throughout Michigan. The Ann Arbor location is right on Main St, and has become one of the go to spots for brunch, especially during the school year. When you step into Jagged Fork you’ll walk into a modern design with white subway tile, black decor accents, open shelving, a small bar and many booths. You might even spot a few famous signatures on the Michigan flag they have displayed on one of the walls. 

The goal at Jagged Fork is to bring together the artistry of cooking and the warmth of comfort food under one roof. Whether you want a stack of oreo pancakes, a sizzling meat lover’s skillet, a plate of chilaquiles, breakfast burrito or a classic egg breakfast, they’ve got you covered. Jagged Fork also has gluten free options, such as pancakes and french toast, which are hard to find in Ann Arbor. And let me tell you from experience, the gluten free pancakes are incredible (add chocolate chips to really make them sweet)! Jagged Fork also has a lot of drink options, such as bloody marys and other cocktails, various lattes and even their own blend of coffee. If you really want to start your day off with a bang, go for the mimosa flight, served with a chilled bottle of champagne and a selection of juices to create your perfect concoction.
