Celebrate Halloween with Matthaei Botanical Garden’s Pumpkins, Lanterns & Leaves. There will be time in the garden with pumpkins, masks, and more harvest fun. The evening ends with a parade of lanterns that kids and families make and take home. Trick or Treat on the River

Trick or Treat on the River returns to Gallup Park for 2022 after a 2 year hiatus. At this time information is tentative until the event is formally announced. They are currently recruiting Give365 Volunteers and only volunteer information is available. If you or your tween/teen would like to volunteer, please sign up here. The event starts at the Gallup Canoe Livery. As you paddle around Gallup Pond there will be costumed creatures handing out treats and candy (be sure to bring a treat bag – possibly even water proof). Participants are encouraged to dress in costume.

Macramé Ghosts

Teens & Tweens can head to Dexter District Library to make Zom-Beanies – zombie inspired hats. Stay warm this spooky season with a fun hat craft! Take a plain beanie and add eyes, stitches, and of course brains to turn it into a zom-beanie. Registration is required.

Not-Too-Scary StoryBook Trail

Chelsea District Library & Washtenaw County Parks & Rec are creating a StoryBook trail with a not-too-scary story along a half-mile trail. Costumes are encouraged. Families can start anytime from 4:30-6:30p and will get a treat at the end.
